Meelika

Meelika has followed her grandmother’s guidance in life: ‘A woman cannot be that spineless.’ Her grandmother’s strength has been an inspiration for Meelika in surviving difficult times.

She uses the services of a personal assistant, yet acknowledges that it is very difficult for her to ask for help from others due to her personality. She needs help with

practical matters, such as keeping her home tidy and clean. She feels bad that she cannot always walk her dog when she wants to.

Meelika has suffered, and still is suffering from, depression. She asks, ‘Why should one be ashamed of being ill and taking medication?’. The last two years of her life have been some of the hardest, with the COVID-19 pandemic, the ongoing war, and everything else.

Meelika works as an accountant. She emphasizes that since the budgets of Estonia and the European Union are based on tax money, and the number of taxpayers is not infinite, all expenses should be considered very carefully.
